The annual Club Fair is coming to campus Wednesday during advisory. The fair provides students the opportunity to learn about organizations and clubs that can help students become involved on campus.

With the campus’ annual Club Fair taking place on Wednesday during advisory, students will have the opportunity to not only learn more about the 30-plus organizations on campus but also find potential clubs of their own interest.

“The fair allows students to see all the clubs offered and be able to have conversations with the [organizations’ officers] to see whether or not it will be a club they would like to join,” associate principal Brook Fesco said. “Students are having mini interviews with each club to see where they would like to spend their time. If a student was reluctant to go to a meeting for the [organization], the Club Fair will give them a chance to speak to some of the members in a less formal setting.”

By providing Redhawks the chance to explore the variety of organizations on campus, students are given the opportunity to be exposed to many different ways in getting involved throughout their high school career.

“I think club fair is beneficial for students because it allows them to explore a variety of clubs that they are interested in or they may not have known about,” senior Sherry Hu said. “I know for me, Club Fair was really helpful freshman year because I got to learn a lot about a lot of interesting clubs and even joined a few. Some of the clubs I joined freshman year have really stuck with me throughout the years, like National Art Honor Society, which I am the president of now.”

Not only is Club Fair beneficial for students on campus but also the organizations being displayed at the event.

“I think [Club Fair] helps clubs a lot because it’s a great way for them to [be advertised] and reach different groups of students,” senior Ayo Olotu said. “Since a lot of students don’t really know how to advertise without Wingspan [announcements] or flyers, which not everyone may see, the fair is an easy way to attract students.”

Similarly, Hu believes that Club Fair gives organizations the chance to bring in new members and promote their goals and purposes.

“Club Fair gives all clubs a fair chance to shine and present to interested students. It lets students get to know the clubs better, and see if their interests line up,” Hu said. “I know for NAHS, we hope to gain a few new members at Club Fair, and spread our mission of art in the community a bit more.”
