Frisco Arts in The Square held its annual event to showcase local student and professional artists’ work along with performances by the school district’s jazz bands on Saturday and Sunday.

“I really enjoyed going to the art show this weekend,” senior Alexis Marroquin said. “Because it was really cool to see all of the hard work students put in. It was also really cool to see professional artwork and kind of expand my culture.”

Arts in The Square is a community-wide event enjoyed by hundreds if not thousands of people each day.

“I went to it last year but it was better this year,” health teacher Stepehn Friar said. “Last year it didn’t have as much stuff but this year there was a lot more.”

One of this year’s features, a chalk walk fundraiser hosted by The Frisco Education Foundation to support graduating students pursuing art-related degrees.

“The chalk walk was pretty sweet,” art teacher Fred Rodriguez said. “To see what people did and there was a couple kids that won money which was pretty awesome.”
