Dual Credit students are looking forward to the end of the fall semester Collin College classes on Thursday. With the Frisco ISD semester not ending until Dec. 22, the end of the Dual Credit semester will leave many students with open schedules going into winter break. Senior Anna Lyon will make full use of her extra time.

“I’ll be taking World Lit 2 and Government [at Collin] next year,” Lyon said. “But until then, I’m going to be going to the gym after my first and second periods because I’ll have more time to workout before work. It’ll be nice to not have to wake up before school to workout.”

While the extra time is welcomed, many students are eager to continue their next Collin Dual Credit classes next semester. For senior Jazze Stewart, the classes will be an opportunity to strengthen old skills and learn new topics.

“I’m going to be in Composition 2 and Government next year,” Stewart said. “I’m looking forward to getting better at English because it’ll help me advance my skills. Government also seems cool. I don’t really know about it, but I’m happy to learn more.”

However while Dual Credit students will get out of these classes before their Frisco ISD class, many Dual Credit classes have final exams.

“I am in Intro to Physical Therapy and our final will be 120 questions, and that’s with a lot of questions having been taken out,” Senior Cooper Pratt said. “It’s going to be so much of a struggle that our professor even asked us to come in early so we’d have extra time to finish. Next semester, I go to my clinicals, which means I’ll be out of the learning stage and can start applying what I’ve learned.”
