The Redhawks girls’ basketball team soared on Friday against Independence winning 55-26, and they aim for the same results as they face Memorial on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m at Memorial High School.

“We had a solid performance on Friday and we came up pretty strong,” head coach Ross Reedy said. “We struggled with some of the looks that they gave us but ultimately we came out on top. We were able to knock down some shots and move the ball really well and then defensively we didn’t give them a lot of chances.”

Junior Keyera Roseby is using Friday’s game as momentum heading into their matchup against Memorial.

“We played well, we executed well & played great defense,” Roseby said. “I expect us to play well  and execute against memorial. We should play better than the first time. We are a better team and we work harder so things should go in our favor.”

With Memorial being undefeated in District 10-5A, Reedy expects a tough game.

“I’m expecting another solid performance and it’s gonna be a real test because Memorial is very good,” Reedy said. “I anticipate that we will be focused and ready to play a tough game and knowing that it’s gonna take a lot to be able to win.”
