The boys’ basketball team visited Emerson High School Tuesday in a District 10-5A game and left with a 63-56 win, moving the Redhawks to 6-1 on the season.

“It was a good win for us, the boys picked up their play in the second half and made the right adjustments to win a close game,” assistant coach Ben Manning said. “Emerson was looking like a brand new team heading into last night, coming off a 3-game win streak and changes since we last played, but we were able to contain them enough for the win.”

With most of the team being seniors, the coaches are putting a lot of their trust into the team, hoping they make the right calls on the court.

“Our team is mostly made up of seniors so the experience we have really helps us close out games,” senior Kaden Groom said. “Down the stretch, we nailed our free throw attempts and just kept poised and control of the ball to keep them from getting any scoring opportunities.”
