After having high hopes and a positive attitude toward their last game, the softball team fell short, losing 4-3 against the Lebanon Trail Trail Blazers on Wednesday night. “It was a little disappointing that we weren’t able to take one last win,” head coach Baylea Higgs said. “But the girls still had plenty of fun so I wouldn’t say it was a horrible loss.”

After a string of successes over spring break, the Redhawks softball team looks to continue their winning streak as they play at Lebanon Trail Friday at 6:30 p.m.

Lebanon Trail is 2-2 in district and it will be a tight battle to finish out our last game of the first round of district [because] we are currently 2-3 in district and sitting in 4th place,” head coach Baylea Higgs said.

For junior Macy Medford, Friday’s game is about taking it slow.

“I have been preparing for tonight’s game by going in with a positive mindset, and just taking it one game at a time,” Medford said. “As a team we have been really focusing on paying attention and working hard in practice to ensure we are ready for tonight’s game vs Lebanon Trail, it will be a great game though and we are super excited to see how it goes.”

The success the team has seen this season continues to motivate the players.

“To finally experience a winning streak we are all super positive and eager to see how the outcome of each game will be,” Medford said. “I think it has collectively made our mindsets more positive and our will to win has definitely increased.”
