One last shot at playoffs for baseball

After a tough, three-district-game losing streak, the Redhawks have one last attempt to get into the playoffs as they head to Independence High School and face the Centennial Titans at 4:30 p.m. in a win-or-go-home matchup.

“We’ve worked hard this week. Now it comes to putting that work into play and playing it the best we can to come out with the win,” head coach Scott McGarrh. “The plan is to play hard and compete to go 1-0 at the end of the night, simple as that.”

The players know it’s up to them to get the win and avoid a similar ending from last year.

“This team still has a lot of potential to show, we have to play at the highest level we’ve played all season to have a chance to show it in the playoffs,” senior Andrew Carnline said. “Our coaches have prepared us to the best of their ability, and we need to use that preparation to execute well and play the game that we’re good at.”
