With the school year coming to a close May 19, Wingspan is counting down the top sports moments from 2022-2023.

Coming in at #6, the volleyball team secured the Area Championship in November after earning the District Championship and the Bi-District Championship.

“This was a huge turnaround from last season; becoming district champs and going three rounds into the playoffs was a drastic improvement from falling short of playoffs last year,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “We made a big commitment at the beginning of the year to create a more supportive and connected culture, and I think it paid off for us in the long run. This will be such a memorable group and I will miss them a ton.”

While their season ended in the third round of playoffs, for senior Mandy Duckworth this season meant more than what was on the court.

“I am so glad I got one more season with these people because I was new here last year,” Duckworth said. “I am really sad because this is my favorite team ever but we cannot beat ourselves up. I am so proud of us and I am really going to miss everyone.”
