Coming off a second-place finish in the Sawyer Camillo Memorial tournament, the Redhawk volleyball team hopes to continue strong in non-district play Tuesday against Rockwall Heath at The Nest.
“I think preseason is going well. We have a lot of new faces, so we are getting to see a lot of different lineups and rotations, and it’s really great,” head volleyball coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “We played them last year, and we lost, but it was just not our best game. We are excited to redeem ourselves tonight.”
The last time the two teams met, early last year, Rockwall Heath came out on top, winning 3-1. But Senior MaryJane McCurdy says the Redhawks know what they’re up against.
“Our biggest challenge will be embracing challenges that we have against them,” McCurdy said. “We know they are a strong team with a lot of returners, so we will have to work hard against their team that is already connected.”
