With two games left in district play, the baseball team’s playoff hopes hang in the balance. Currently in fourth place with a district record of 9-5, the team will be playing Heritage Wednesday at Heritage at 7:30 p.m. and Frisco on Friday at home at 7:30 p.m.

“We control our own destiny, and as an athlete that is all you can ask for,” baseball coach Scott McGarrh said. “Win and we are in. I like it in our hands.”

The team is focusing on the remaining opponents one game at a time.

“You know we need to win tonight, we need to win and take care of business tonight and technically if we win tonight and some other teams lose then we are actually in tonight,” McGarrh said. “But we can’t worry about what other teams are doing; we have to take care of business ourselves.”

Update: Tuesday’s game has been rescheduled for Wednesday due to the threat of severe weather. The original posting of this story had the game scheduled for Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
