Saturday marks the district meet for Model UN at Grand Prairie High School. “The basis of MUN is that you’re preparing something about your country’s stance on a certain topic - it’s a mock United Nations,” undersecretary of conference and delegate trainer sophomore Jiya Sharma said.

Student Council hosts their third advisory event of the school year with Just Dance on Tuesday. Students can show off their best 80s outfit and dance with their friends at the event.

The 2023 Homecoming Dance is Saturday but students can get into an early groove with Tuesday’s Just Dance event in the main gym during advisory.

“I am looking forward to the Just Dance advisory event because I think it’s a great way to bring people together,” Student Council Vice President, senior Lily Leyden said. “It also allows students to have fun during the school day.”

StuCo received a positive response from students when they held the first Just Dance event in the spring of 2022 and hopes to earn similar feedback.

“Just Dance has been a really popular event in the past, so we are looking forward to a great turnout,” Student Council President, senior Haley Ward said. “Students can dance or watch, either way it’s a great opportunity for them to interact with other students.”

In addition to providing students with a chance to connect, the event will be an opportunity for everyone to show off their 80s themed outfits for homecoming week.

“We are really looking forward to our Just Dance advisory event,” Ward said. “It is on Tuesday which is also 80s theme day for homecoming week, so it will be super cute seeing everyone dancing in their outfits.”
