After securing a playoff spot last week with a 13-6 victory over Walnut Grove, the tennis team (4-1) is back in action with the efficiency and skill of John Wick, hosting the state-ranked Lebanon Trail Blazers (4-1) Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Continuing the high-stakes, high-reward theme, assistant tennis coach Neil Grobler maintains that the team will be able to pull off a win despite the unpredictability of the identical standings.
“As a team, we are excited for what we have been able to accomplish so far this season and will continue to give each match our best effort,” Grobler said. “Tuesday’s match vs. LT will be our biggest challenge to this point of our season. We will be without some of our top players, but this provides some of the other players on our team a great opportunity. The entire team has been working hard all year and will compete to the best of their abilities.”
Knowing what’s on the line, senior Purnoor Sharma and the rest of the team are doubling down on preventing mistakes.
“We’re well on our way to the playoffs,” Sharma said. “We need to keep our focus.”
