Model UN delegates attend regional conference

From parliamentary procedure to spirited debate, Model UN delegates gave it their all at the regional conference on Dec 9.

  • The entire Liberty Model UN team is pictured at MUN regionals. Next, they will advance to MUN State, which is upcoming in the new year.

  • Delegates Sheen Saxena, Amogh Thantry, Amogh Aryan, Krish Pokle and Gregory Matthews are shown at the awards ceremony after committees have ended. The tension in the room is palpable, but our delegates are all smiles.

  • The Awards Ceremony at a MUN conference is when delegates get to see if their hard work paid off. The Secretary General gives his opening remarks and begins the commencement of awards.

  • Model UN competed in a state-wide competition that finished on Sunday where students shared solutions to real-life political issues with others in a mock United Nations session. Eight Redhawks won awards including the two chair awards.

  • This weekend, 19 Redhawks will be competing in the Model United Nations state competition at the Westin Galleria Hotel in Dallas. They will be simulating a session of the United Nations, as well as debating with other participants from schools across Texas.

  • The Opening Ceremony at a MUN conference is what officially starts the day. The Secretary General gives his opening remarks and welcomes delegates to committee.
