With EOC’s mostly concluded and the school year winding down, many students find themselves winding down with it. However, listen to what I am telling you: It’s not over yet!

There are still three weeks of school left, and two until the grading period is officially over. Did you hear that? Two full weeks left of grades, tests, and projects.

Listen, I get where you’re coming from. I myself would like nothing more than to shut down and tune out everything that my teachers have to say. However, I also know that the upcoming exams and projects are some of the most important and heavily-weighted of all. Quitting now would not be good.

Like us, teachers begin to get lazy and give us less and less assignments, and save it all for the tests. When your major grade tests are some of the only assignments you are going to be given in a marking period, it makes no sense to shut out everything the teacher is telling you.

School is still going for a reason. Had the district not thought that we needed these last few weeks, the year would already be over. However, the district knows that we need these last few weeks, so here we are.

Summer will be here soon. Pretty soon, we are going to have three full months off from school. That should be plenty of time for you to get your fill of relaxation. And after these last few months are up, you will realize that it was worth the wait.

All our lives we look away to the future, to the horizon. Never are our minds on where we are. Summer is not far away. Patience. Soon it will be with us.
