The second semester is underway and the window for students to select their courses for next year is open from today through Feb. 15. Students can request to change their courses on the counselor connections website by filling out a form.

With the school year reaching its halfway point, students are being asked to edit their 4 year career plan, and start thinking about the classes they will be taking next year.

The window for students to select their courses for next year is open from today through Feb. 15 and students can request to change their courses on the form on the counselor connections website.

“Actually, this is my first time in FSD, so I was actually surprised that we have a lot of choices because where I was originally, we just had to take the courses that they give us,” junior Suhjin Kim. “I mean, I was just glad that there are a lot of different, different courses available for different jobs.”

To prevent scheduling issues, students are asked to make sure core and elective classes are correct and that alternates are listed for electives.

“I would say in general, when you’re making your schedule, requests always make sense,” counselor Ryan Kiefer said. “So like, if you want to be a medical doctor, you should take things like AP Biology,  Anatomy and Physiology. If you want to be a business major, take business classes and make sense to what your actual career and college goals are.”

The schedule change request window is different, and earlier, than what was originally communicated and this will be the final change window for the 2024-2025 school year.
