Many students struggle in the classrooms and unknowingly be suffering from learning disabilities. The school has many programs to help these students. With more is WTV’s Isabella Santiago.

There are hundreds of learning disabilities with varying severity.

Frisco ISD has multiple programs in place for students struggling with learning disabilities.

“On our campus we have lots of services we provide for our students in the classroom such as extra time, giving them assignments broken down into parts,” assistant principal Phil Brown said. “We do things of that nature and depending on the severity of their disabilities we can modify their curriculum or put them into modified course to help them with their academic needs.”

These students may get modified assignments, courses, and given extra time.

Frisco ISD’s goal is to give all of their students the best education possible and all the same opportunities.

“Because our job is to make sure all students on campus are successful regardless of their level of ability in the classroom,” Brown said.

In order to get into one of these programs one must qualify with certain requirements and take tests.

“If a student is struggling they should go talk to their teacher,” Brown said. “If they feel like their teacher can’t  answer those questions they should feel free to talk to their counselor or any administrator here.”
