The first place Memorial Warriors held up to their reputation Friday as they beat the Redhawks 7-2 leaving the Redhawks 6-6 and tied for third with four other teams in District 10-5A.
“Memorial is who I picked to win district, and they’re going there,” head coach Scott McGarrh said. “You know, we’re down five nothing and we battled back to make it five, two, and then they scored two more and we just couldn’t catch up.”
The team must keep an open mind and not fixate on the loss according to players, as the final week of District 10-5A play is upon them with the race for third and fourth place spots are up in the air.
“There were a lot of mistakes made last week by everyone, but it is in the past and we are gonna flush that series,” senior Thatcher Benson said.
