The Redhawks baseball team opened the first round of playoffs Wednesday against the Lone Star Rangers with a 7-2 win.
“It was really good to see our guys go out and compete at the plate and really execute a game plan on both sides,” assistant coach Easton Moore said.
The Redhawks were led in part by senior Brady Miller going 4-for-4 (two singles, one double, and one triple).
“Feels awesome coming off a district play going into playoffs, it’s a good start,” Miller said. “Mindset was I think down on us like we knew what was going to happen. We knew what they’re thinking so we came in strong, fought hard and did what needed to get done.”
The team will now move onto game two of the three game series on Friday. If the Redhawks win they will advance to the next round, however, if they lose they will move onto the tie breaker game on Saturday.
“We need to keep it the same things,” Miller said. “I wouldn’t change a thing, like we played hard, we played strong, we did what we needed to get done, and we did the job small ball.”
