With the holiday season fast approaching, the spirit of giving is in full swing, and deadlines for Angel Tree donations are just around the corner. This annual program invites Students and teachers to make a difference in their community.
The Angel Tree donations are facilitated through A Small World, which partners with local schools to bring holiday joy to families in need.
“We ask classes to adopt an angel for the holiday season,” Counselor Lanae Rainey said. “If your class chooses to adopt an angel, you will receive the names and a wishlist. Students and individuals can then select items from the wishlist, and these unwrapped gifts are due after Thanksgiving break. The Small World Angel Program will pick them up and distribute them to families. The idea behind providing unwrapped gifts is to allow families to wrap them and present them to their children. This approach empowers parents and helps them enjoy the season with their families.”
For senior Eliza Archaga, the Angel Tree program is an opportunity to bring happiness to those who need it most.
“I think Angel Tree donations are really important because everyone deserves something for Christmas, especially little kids,” Archaga said.
Senior Irene Appiah shares similar sentiments regarding the program.
“I think Angel Tree donations are a good cause because helping people in need is close to my heart,” Appiah said. “It’s something I love doing because it’s a good thing.”
