With enrollment for the Fall 2025 Dual Credit courses wrapping up, students may be faced with the choice of taking their courses at the Collin College Campus or at Liberty.
“The key part about taking a class at the Collin campus is navigating a college campus, being able to find where your class is, being able to be around college students,” Dual Credit Counselor Cherron Jones said. “It’s a sense of maturity and direction; it can be liberating for some students because you’re walking around with other mature students, but you’re also driving there.”
According to an article published by the Texas Association of School Boards, nearly 2.5 million students nationwide participated in dual credit enrollment.
“I really like taking [dual credit at Collin], the professors are more chill when you’re at the Collin Campus,” senior Haley Hicks said. “They treat you more like adults, and if your class ends early, they let you go, and you can’t do that at Liberty.”
Taking dual credit courses at the high school campus is more time efficient and accessible for senior Sahana Padmanabhan.
“My experience taking dual credit on high school campus was honestly very convenient,” Padmanabhan said. “Every time I would come to school, I wouldn’t have to commute from the Collin Campus back to school, so I find it really helpful at times.”
