Students have the opportunity to make the holiday season a little bit sweeter for their teachers as the Redhawk PTSA hosts its annual Liberty Sweet Treats donation drive. The treats collected from the drive will be available for staff to pick out and take home to share with their loved ones on Tuesday in the library.
Redhawks looking to participate have one of two options: purchasing sweet treats for their teachers or donating money that will go towards PTSA purchasing sweet treats. For every dozen goodies or $12 donated, students will receive one volunteer hour with a maximum of three hours.
For teacher Jill Bradshaw, the annual event poses an opportunity to allow teachers to feel appreciated as the year comes to a close.
“I look forward to it every year,” Bradshaw said. “It’s just a nice thing that like the PTSA does for the teachers and just, you know, makes us feel a little bit appreciated, people bringing in cookies.”
The final window to drop off the sweet treats is Tuesday from 8:30-10:30 a.m.
