Swimming has its first meet of the season on Saturday in the FISD Sprint Invitational at Bruce Eubanks Natatorium, the first of 11 meets prior to the District 13-5A meet in January.

Saturday’s meet is a little bit different as all races will be half the normal distance making them all sprint oriented.

The boys’ team is coming off its most successful season with the girls’ hoping to follow suit this year.

“The girls team has never made it to state,” junior Julia Cole said. “Last year was the first time the boys team ever made it to state so this year the girls are working on trying to make it to regionals at least in top five and then hopefully to state. Thats our goal.”
