Choir’s first concert of the year is Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium, where varsity and women’s ensemble will sing with the Vandeventer Middle School choir as part of a free event.

“We want to encourage the middle schools and see what we do here, so that when they move up here they will already be thinking about choral music and being a part of it,” choir director Bruce Stevenson said.

The concert will feature the musical styling of various cultures such as Bonse Aba, Elijah Rock, and When the First Trumpet Sounds, as well as the repertoire of the Vandeventer choirs.

“It gives us a chance to share what we’ve been working on,” Stevenson said. “I would encourage students to hear the music of the middle schoolers and their peers.”
