Draft attendance zones for the four new schools that will open in 2016 were just part of the Frisco ISD board meeting Monday as the school’s cross country team and National Merit semifinalists were honored.

“Being honored at the student board meeting feels great,” junior cross country runner Nick Wynne said. “It shows that I worked really hard and I’m glad to be honored for my hard work all year.”

The district’s National Merit semifinalists were also recognized as the country’s top one percent qualifying test takers.

“Being a National Merit Semifinalist feels pretty good knowing that all our hard work paid off,” senior National Merit semifinalist Ashlesha Nesarikar said. “I’ve been working on test prep for a while but now that I’m done with it, it’s better. You’ve just got to keep moving forward and improve yourself in other ways.”

Athletics, arts and academics were all highlighted as the district’s and school’s strengths.
“I think for me the cool thing is that this is just the epitome of what we are as a campus and community,” Principal Scott Warstler said. “We have so many students who excel in so many different areas, part of that athletics, part of that fine arts, part of that academics, so it’s a really cool thing to be able to see, from a school perspective, how we can excel in all those areas.”
