The Redhawks tennis team is taking the court for only the second time in months with COVID-19 protocols in place, allowing them to travel to Heritage High School for a District 9-5A match that begins Friday at 4:00 p.m.

[Currently] we are doing pattern drills [to prepare],” tennis coach Erika Dopson said.  “We are also working on closing out points. Heritage is arguably the strongest team in our district. We will have lots of competitive matches.”

Coming off of their first match, a 13-6 loss to Centennial, the team has been working to find new ways to better their skills.

Sophomore Morgan Mowery is confident the team’s effort will pay off against Heritage.

“To prepare we have after school practice,” Mowery said. “We run drills and do practice matches. We’ve been playing really well recently so I think we will have a positive outcome this week.
