We have all heard to “wear a mask” in public. “Always wash your hands” and “social distance” when possible. I don’t know about you guys, but I definitely wasn’t expecting to hear that the mask mandate in Texas is being lifted by the governor Gregg Abbott, despite what health officials have said about it.

I think that it’s still too early for everyone to be roaming free around without wearing any sort of mask or protection in public. The cases are still rising by the day, not only in the DFW metroplex but in all different states in the US and in countries all over the world. This is still a dangerous virus that we should be concerned about.

Yes, people argue that they aren’t going to live their lives like this forever, and I completely agree. But at least until majority people are vaccinated, people should still be cautious when going out in public.

Summer break coming up in a couple of months doesn’t help either. People are saying that when the summer starts, they’re going to ignore all precautionary measures and enjoy their summer to the fullest. As much as I’m in love with the idea of this, I’m not going to give up wearing a mask in public 100% of the time until I know that the vaccine is actually working and cases are going down.

Anyways, I hope you guys have a fun and safe spring break! See you after the break Redhawks!
