Is love enough?

I have a friend who recently just got out of an 8-month long relationship. They loved each other but it was a long distance thing, and they never got to see each other. Additionally, the parents didn’t like the relationship. There were many factors going against their relationship, so they decided to end it. But that leaves me with the question, is love enough?

If you love someone, would you fight for them? Would you do everything in your power to stay with them? I know, it’s a tricky question. The truth is, there is no wrong or right answer. Sometimes you have to look at the situation and put yourself first. Other times, you put all your pride and ego away, and just try your best to be with the person you love. At the end of the day, love isn’t always the reason to be in a relationship with someone. Things can be toxic and not healthy, but you still love that person. Or it can be perfect. Maybe you love them and they support your dreams and want what’s best for you.

It’s weird because I’m not sure what my answer would be. I think every situation is unique so there’s no set answer. However, I would hope in my future that love would be enough. I hope it would be enough to make me want to fight for the person no matter what, as long as the feeling is replicated.
