The the boys’ basketball team took on a busy winter break playing a total of 4 games and ending the tournament with a 3-1 record. The team found success through working together as a group, which they will take into their district season underway.

Boys’ basketball heads to Prosper High School to face the Eagles at 7:15 p.m., preparing for another game against a 6A opponent.

“Prosper has a lot of athletic talent on their team, got some big players who can score and dominate the paint, so we got our work cut out for us,” head coach Stephen Friar said. “The boys just have to play their game, take care of the ball, defend well, and get down the court on fast breaks, if we stick to that plan we can win.”

The Redhawks are about a week away from their first district game against Emerson, so the team is using these last non-district contests to focus on improving.

“We’re looking to win, but also get more practice in with live games so we gain experience and learn as a team for our first district game,” senior Booda Daniels said. “These matches against tough 6A opponents have really pushed the team’s drive to win and play hard, so we’re on a good path for the rest of the season.”
