In their first tri-meet of the season Redhawks wrestling were pinned. Slim numbers were believed to have limited the teams success.

The Redhawks wrestling teams split up over winter break, with the girls wrestling in a tournament and the boys competing in several duals.

“Our teams went to separate locations this past week,” co-head coach Arman Mansouri said. “The girls wrestled a tournament at Grapevine and had 4 placers, 3 finalists and a 4th place finisher. The guys wrestled 8 total duals, but we were very short handed with only 7 out of the 14 weight classes present. We had some guys step up and had every individual on the team winning multiple matches, but without a full line up we came up short.”

While the teams have seen improvement throughout the season, senior Preston Mealy believes the teams still have progress to make.

“A lot of individual performances were good,” Mealy said. “As a team we still need to figure some things out and come together to get some wins.”
