The girls’ soccer team kicked off District 10-5A play Wednesday with a 4-0 win against Centennial.

“It really just sets the tone for the rest of the district play,” head coach Kyle Beggs said. “It kinda establishes us off on the right foot and just kinda sets that precedent that we’re coming into every game with this certain mentality of we want to win, and we want to win big, hopefully.”

Sophomore Bella Marroquin, agrees that a win was a perfect way to start the season.

“I thought it was a pretty easy game to start off district, and hopefully, we can continue getting better,” Marroquin said. “You always want to start with a win, because it gives you that momentum for the season.”

Boys soccer had their last non-district game Wednesday when they finished with a draw against Diamond-Hill Jarvis.

“There has definitely been improvement since the start of preseason,” sophomore Lucas Godoy said. “We are moving the ball around a lot better, and we are playing with intensity. I think we’re ready for district play.”
