Supermarket chain, H-E-B, is opening up their second Frisco location at the southwest corner of U.S. 380 W. University and FM 423 on Gee Road near Little Elm on a piece of land they already own.

The opening of the first H-E-B stirred excitement in North Texas and the second location has done the same.

“Our H-E-B locations across North Texas continue to thrive, and this H-E-B store will allow us to answer the long-standing call for an H-E-B in this growing community,” Carlos Rück, H-E-B Executive Vice President said.

Reflecting upon the  diverse population of Frisco, H-E-B will be bringing diverse flavors to their second location as well.

“Frisco has a heavier Asian population and it’s South Asian Indian,” H-E-B spokesperson, Mike Gerson said. “So if you go throughout the store, like over in dairy, we have a four foot set just of yogurt, Indian yogurt, Indian brand.”

Closer to campus, H-E-B is also opening a new location in McKinney on the northeast corner of Custer Road and Eldorado Parkway, which is expected to open this spring.

Junior Rida Zaki is excited for a new location to be closer to home.

“I’m excited that an H-E-B is so much closer to where I live,” Zaki said. “I usually have to drive all the way down to Preston if I do want to go, and that’s just inconvenient. I also think having another grocery store nearby will make food and diverse palettes more accessible.”
