The baseball team’s playoff spot was on the line on Friday, and their were able to secure a bid to playoffs with a win over Centennial. “Probably the proudest I have been of this group of kids all season, how they overcame adversity, stuck with each other until the end, and literally weathered the storm,” head coach Scott McGarrh said.

The baseball team had one goal in mind on Friday: to qualify for playoffs. Through adversity and lightning storms, the Redhawks did just that, soaring over the Centennial Titans 9-3 and booking their playoff ticket for Thursday.

“Probably the proudest I have been of this group of kids all season, how they overcame adversity, stuck with each other until the end, and literally weathered the storm,” head coach Scott McGarrh said. “We played great, our pitcher kept their lead-off hitter off base and delivered for us the whole game, our hitters were taking the best from the opportunities that were given, it was great to see them back to where they should be.”

The Redhawks will be heading to the playoffs for the first time since 2021 and the team boasts a young roster that’s hungry to make a statement.

“It’s a great feeling, it’s something we work for every season so we have an extra opportunity to show what we’re capable of and we want to make the most of it,” junior Colby Thorsen said. “There’s only 1 player on our roster who’s experienced the playoffs, so it’ll be a different experience but we’ll be as ready as we can.”
