In their first district match of the season Redhawk Tennis fell short, losing to the Frisco Racoons on Wednesday. “It was a hard-fought match, as expected,” tennis coach Neil Grobler said.

Warming up for their District 10-5A match on Aug. 22, the Redhawks fell short against 9-5A Frisco Raccoons, losing 12-7.

However, despite the loss, there were still some bright spots for the Redhawks.

“It was a hard-fought match, as expected,” tennis coach Neil Grobler said. “[Juniors] Hailey Zhang and Tanvi Desai were the players of the match for Liberty, winning their doubles as well as their singles matches.”

Even though the team didn’t get the final result they wanted, the coaches and players know what they need to do in order to be successful in the future.

“We [need to] continue to work hard on the practice court as we get ready for a big match next Tuesday vs. Heritage,” Grobler said.
