Student Council hosts their second advisory event of the school year on Thursday in the auxiliary gym. They invite students to come enjoy games of gaga ball with their peers.

Student Council is hosting their second advisory event of the year in the auxiliary gym on Thursday for a game of Gaga Ball with the entire student body invited.

“Advisory events are really important because they provide a way for students to socialize on campus,” StuCo President, senior Haley Ward said. “Some students are not able to attend after-school activities, so advisory events are more accessible!”

This isn’t the first time StuCo has hosted Gaga Ball, and it’s being brought back for a reason.

“We actually came up with Gaga Ball last year, and when we saw that it was a huge success, we wanted to do it again this year,” StuCo officer, senior Emory Williams said. “We just wanted an event that will bring some excitement and energy, and that’s what we think Gaga Ball will do.”

From musical chairs to Gaga Ball, StuCo is constantly generating ideas to engage the student body and allow them to relax.

“I have a few people that I get in a group with to just kinda toss out ideas that could be fun,” Williams said. “We want to provide a little something that students can look forward to throughout the week.”

The committee strives to find fun, new ways to unite the student body while creating school spirit.

“If we can make people’s days more enjoyable and make them excited to walk on campus, then we are doing our job,” Ward said. “Our goal with advisory events this year is to reach as many students as possible.”
