Frisco ISD is currently seeking input from its community members, parents, and staff to help shape its future decisions through a community survey. The survey will be open through Friday, Oct. 20, and focuses on gathering feedback on key aspects such as the student opportunity model, early childhood programming, and campus maintenance and operations.
“We believe that the best learning opportunities happen when we partner with our community,” Frisco ISD Superintendent Dr. Mike Waldrip said in a news release on Friscoisd.org. “That’s why we’re empowering our stakeholders to help us build a bright future for all our students.”
Senior Grace Ajayi thinks the survey may have had impacts when administered in past years.
“I think that the survey this year is more for the teachers, but it still matters for us to give feedback to the district,” she said. “After the desks and tables were changed, that might have been because of results from the survey.”
While the district hopes to get as much input as possible, it’s not likely with more than 70 schools in the district.
“I think the district intends for the survey to see where people’s priorities are, and that they well intend to make changes,” AP Environmental Science teacher Jamie Berendt said. “It has a lot to do with, is it going to make sense for the district and its growth, and maintaining the campus. It’s important to recognize that not all changes we want can happen.”
