It’s a must win tournament for girls’ golf as they head to Twin Creeks Golf Club Monday morning. The group competes in the District-105A tournament, with a win needed to advance to regionals.

The girls’ golf team competed in the Argyle Girls’ Invitational on Friday and Saturday finishing 17th out of 20 teams.

“We had a rough first day but rebounded with some good play in the 2nd round on Saturday,” coach Shannon Glidwell said. “There were many very good teams at this event, so this was a great test for our team.”

For junior Britney Zhang, this challenging tournament is an indicator of what she needs to work on moving forward in the season.

“I feel pretty good about how I did at the tournament,” Zhang said. “It was a hard course and it challenged me, but I did really well. There were many simple mistakes that ended up hurting my score, so I know what I need to work on. I need to spend more time putting during practice.”
