Only three games into their season, the Redhawks girls’ basketball team is starting off strong. Currently sitting on a three game win streak after defeating J.J. Pearce Thursday.

The Redhawks girls’ basketball team defeated the J.J. Pearce High School Mustangs 61-19 in opening round play in the Dallas Mavericks Fall Classic Thursday afternoon.

“I feel like we did good offensively and defensively,” junior Aniah Warrior said. “I learned more about permanent help and knowing when to switch and when not to switch.”

The Redhawks are currently on a three game winning streak to start their season. The team hopes to rack up the wins before district play begins and learn along the way.

“As soon as you play, the bad things, the ugly stuff you’re not prepared for, you know, they get revealed,” head coach Ross Reedy said. “And then all the sudden, you have all these games back to back to back to back. And so it’s really important to be able to learn as you’re playing.”
