UIL Science makes history as state champions

The UIL Math and Science team traveled to the UT Austin campus Monday to compete in the state meet, where the UIL Science team captured their first state championship.

  • “It feels awesome,” senior Yash Kadaki said. “It’s the first year the science team even got to state and we ended up becoming state champs. I was pretty surprised because we were scoring a solid 100 points less than the team we beat by 16 to win state.

  • The team was also accompanied by Advanced Academics director Krishna Chetty, who used to teach AP Chemistry and coach UIL Science at Liberty before moving on to his administrative position.

  • The UIL science team won its first state championship in Liberty history.

  • The math and science UIL teams traveled down to UT Austin on Monday to compete at the state meet, accompanied by UIL coaches Jeff Schrantz and Leah Beck.
