Sizzle, pop, crunch, munch…is the sound of a symphony of foods merging together at the fine arts multicultural potluck on Friday.
“Multicultural night is an enclave of multiple varying cultures from all corners of the world,” sophomore Vivian Wang said. “I could not wish for a more diversifying and inclusive experience.“
The fine arts programs don’t usually have an opportunity to join together; but for some students, the potluck brings a sense of community among everyone from various fine arts programs.
“I think multicultural night is very important for everyone from different fine arts programs to come together and experience different cultures and it creates a nice sense of community,” orchestra librarian junior Saanvi Patel said.
For sophomore Valerie Nanton, she thinks the potluck is worth doing every year because it brings unity among students across various cultures.
“I really like the sense of community with everyone being encouraged to dress up this year and all the different foods that people have brought for everyone to try,” Nanton said. “You kind of get to know a little bit about everyone in a way and I also like watching how much fun everyone is having, playing games and everything so I definitely think we should continue to do this social every year.”
