Someone that I know was called childish for wearing fun pants with cartoons on them. How is that in any way childish?
Are teenagers and adults suddenly not allowed to like cartoons anymore?
Just because someone who is older is watching a cartoon doesn’t make them childish or immature. The only thing that’s immature is judging them and thinking that you’re better by only watching media rated R or M. It really doesn’t make you ‘better’ than them at all.
Yes, something can be rated and recommended towards a specific age group but that doesn’t ultimately restrict you from media outside of your age group. Since I’m a teenager, am I not allowed to watch cute and fun Disney movies anymore? Am I not allowed to own a t-shirt with a cute character on it?
Cartoons are supposed to be fun for everyone. That’s why I said media can be recommended towards an age group, not specifically put into one.
Anyone telling you that you’re too old to enjoy something is clearly wrong. Embrace your interests and don’t let anyone put you down for it.
And plus, if you’re trying to get into some new cartoons, some good ones I would recommend are Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House, and Over the Garden Wall. They’re very entertaining and have a great mix of whimsy and darker themes.
