Frisco ISD (FISD) students in grades 10 through 12 now have access to a variety of leadership opportunities, ranging from local involvement to national programs.

The counseling team recently shared information about programs such as the CoServ Youth Leadership Tour and the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. Some opportunities are limited to certain grade levels, and select programs include travel, such as trips to Washington, D.C.

Students interested in applying can refer to the email sent by the counseling department for application requirements and deadlines. Selected nominees will receive further information by email.

“An email went out to all students about leadership opportunities and a list of different places to apply, like Boys State, Girls State, and Mayor’s Council,” counselor Amanda Zambiasi said. “There are application requirements and deadlines. These are a great opportunity for students to add to their resume, get involved, and it looks great for college applications in the future.”

Students such as junior Rayanne Noonari see these programs as a chance to prepare for college while serving their community. 

“I think the leadership opportunities are a great idea because a lot of people our age are seeking leadership to put on college resumes, and I think it’s a good opportunity to do something in your community of Frisco,” Noonari said.
