Welcome to the beginning of my senior column, “Before I Lea-ve.” Hopefully, you’ve noticed it by now, but I wanted to include a little pun in the title of this column that, yes, includes my name but also reflects my life’s current chapter: senior year, the year before I leave for college.
As the oldest sibling in my family, I’ve had no one to guide me through high school, so I wanted to start a column where I could help those who need extra guidance while figuring out high school, especially senior year.
In this weekly column, I’ll share my experiences, lessons, and mini-guides to survive high school, all things I wish I had learned sooner.
Here are some things you can expect in the future:
- The tedious process of painting senior jeans (tips and tricks, and how to make the process fun)
- How to actually take good notes and why it matters
- Surviving senioritis (which is currently hitting, but I bet will hit ten times harder in a few months)
- Guide to stress-free HoCo and prom planning
- Early release and late arrival (and why they’re lifesavers)
- Little self-care rests after a long week
- Podcasts, shows, movies, and random things that make senior year less stressful
- Making the most out of Halloween, travel, and other memories
I’m super excited to see this column come to life, and I hope you will enjoy reading it just as much!
Before I Lea-ve,
Stick around! I’ll see you next Monday!
