Writing gives me a voice when I am unable to speak. Whether that is an essay for school, a short story, a novel, or even a diary entry. I am always writing. I’ve come a long way in my experience as a writer and Wingspan has helped a lot to shape me as a writer. Writing is a very important aspect of my life.
This is my first year in Wingspan. I’m very thankful that I joined this class. I was able to be with my friends and the class pushed me to complete work that sometimes I didn’t want to do. I know that this class will help me with my writing in college. Mr. Higgins helped me get better with my writing skills and knew that I was new to the class so he helped me learn the fundamentals.
I’m looking forward to continuing my writing journey, maybe to even become an author in the future. I’m currently working on publishing a trilogy. Wingspan has helped me to develop new ideas and modes of writing, making my novels even better. If I do publish, I hope to positively impact people in ways others have impacted me. Even if just one person says that my book is their favorite, that would be a dream come true. Thank you to my friends and family who have supported me and if I do publish, the book will be dedicated to them.
Working with the sports column was a very interesting experience for me to take on. I really enjoyed being able to work with Redhawk athletes and learn about how their sport can represent our school. Also, working on Wingspan helped me to learn about things that I didn’t know took place on our campus. It has opened my eyes to what being a Redhawk really means.
I will forever cherish what Wingspan has given me this year. Although I only got to be in this class for a year, I am lucky to say that I was able to make the most of it.
