District play for volleyball is a little more than a week away and to help get ready for the playoff push, the team plays another non-district game Tuesday at Flower Mound starting at 6:30 p.m. The game is one of the team’s last chances to get ready for the start of district play.

“We have been playing in tournaments and practicing hard and really focusing on parts of our game that we need to pick up and having some fun as we go,” head volleyball coach Ui Womble said.

The team begins playing district play on Sept. 9 against Wakeland, to start the long trek towards playoffs. The team has been knocked out of the playoffs in the first round against Prosper for three years in a row, but this year the team hopes they will get much further.

“I expect us to make playoffs and to go on a long run, we are excited, it’s a hard time in the season because we just finished three long tournaments,” Womble said. “The girls are kind of tired and beaten down so it’s good to start paying one game a night so we can get some rest under us and be prepared to go for district competition.”
