Rose is a senior and working for her fourth year in the Wingspan classroom. She is currently the secretary for Liberty’s Students for Environmental Action club, Education Lead for FISD’s Earth Corps, and an ambassador for Frisco’s Teens4Greens program. Her school blog, Vegan View, further explores her passions for environmentalism and animal welfare. In her spare time, she loves to read, draw, do yoga, thrift, find new music, and go get coffee with her favorite people. Occasionally, actually frequently, she lays outside and stares up at the moon and stars. She hopes to one day help save the world, from the climate crisis that is.

One of the most famous Japanese prints from the 1800s is The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai. Inspired by paintings and prints such as Hokusais, PreAP Art II students are working on a mixed media piece as they learn about Asian styles and skills, and the history behind them. “I wanted my students to have a basic understanding of Japanese prints and painting techniques that influenced the Impressionist painters in the late 1800s,” teacher Pernie Fallon said.
