As the season comes to a close, the Redhawks will take on their neighborhood opponents at the District 9-5A tournament Wednesday and Thursday at Marcus High School.

Players have practiced and attended spring tournaments nearly every week since January in preparation for the two day event and they must individually, either as a singles player or as a doubles team, place first or second place to move onto the regional tournament.

“I’ve just been using the last couple tournaments to really focus on what I need to do to be successful in districts,” senior Sydney Graff said. “This is literally the last time I will be playing competitive, high school tennis so I’m going to give it all I got.”

For senior Sophie Boutouis, trying her best is the least that she can do after dedicating the last four years to tennis.

“I’ve worked too hard the last four years to not try my hardest,” she said. “I’m going to put everything I’ve worked on, every strategy I know, onto the court to make my partner and I as successful as possible.”
