One of the this year’s newest broadcast journalism features is Frisco Feasts, Foods, and Faves which takes a look at locally owned and operated restaurants in Frisco. Borrowing from Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, the weekly feature is entering its seventh week.

“I like that it shows you some new places around that a lot of people like so you have ideas on where to go,” junior Kayla Wright said. “The other things that motivate me are whenever I see, to go to that restaurant is whenever I meet the people. On the thing they interview the actual people and they seem really nice like the managers and everything and they look like they put quality work into their food.”

Trying to mimic Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Frisco Feasts puts its own spin on Triple D.

“I think it’s kind of funny how he rides up in the tricycle, that’s what I like about it,” freshmen Ruth Wang said. “I like that they show really delicious foods.”

Although some of the students like what they see most of the time, some have reservations about the restaurants that are showed.

“I’m not really tempted to try the restaurants because they only show like one item of food,” Wright said. “They don’t tell you a lot about the menu like in general.”

But what is shown is often too much of a temptation for some students.

“Based on this, I’m actually really, really tempted to stay out because the food looks so delicious,” Wang said. “Especially the cheesy ones.”

However, there’s one thing that some students think is a bit hard to stomach.

“I know they do it in a lot of TV shows,” Wright said. “But I think it’s kind of weird, him just biting into things and awkward silence.”

Although most students like Frisco Feasts, Foods, and Faves there’s at least one suggestion to make it better.

“They should definitely offer coupons,” Wright said. “That would be really good because we are advertising them and so we want to see them. I think that would really help promote it.”
