Teeing up for a busy few days, boys’ and girls’ golf head to the 2022 Frisco Cup on Friday at the Trails of Frisco Golf Course at 8:00 a.m. and the 15th Annual Redhawk Shootout on Monday at 8:30 a.m. held at the Twin Creeks Golf Course.

“We are keeping to our usual practice routines as much as we can, but the weather is not cooperating,” head coach Shannon Glidwell said. “Hopefully we can get out the rest of this week and work on our putting and short game. The kids will also be playing as partners as much as we can, given that the Frisco Cup has a mixed pairs division this year. The kids are ready for both events and we are excited to watch them play.”

Junior Ashley Zhang has high expectations for the team, and believes unity among the girls’ and boys’ teams will be key to success.

“The team is preparing for those important tournaments by practicing what each player struggles on as well as playing together outside of school to create more chemistry and hopefully get better teamwork amongst the girls and guys,” Zhang said. “I am expecting for us to win a title in the team division and hopefully I will play my best and grab a 1st place individual title like my last tournament. My expectations are high for the team and I’m hoping our practicing pays off.”
