Girls’ basketball ends district play at first

The girls’ basketball team earned a share of the district championship with a win over Independence on Tuesday. The team now moves to playoffs, with their first game being Monday.

The girls’ basketball team played their final District 10-5A game on Tuesday, beating  Independence 52-23,  and earning the Redhawks a share of the district championship with Memorial

“The game was very fun and exciting and I enjoyed playing my last district game with my teammates,” senior Za’naiha Hensley said. “I am very confident heading into playoffs that we will make it pretty far. I feel like we are starting to form a strong foundation and I am very hopeful of the outcomes.”

The team will now look towards playoffs, with their first game Monday.

“Feelings in my final district game was a type of accomplishment, and bittersweet,” senior Jezelle Moreno said. “Heading into playoffs we feel confident, but we are preparing very heavily for our upcoming games”
