The baseball team earned redemption on Friday with a win over the Independence Knights. “Even though we got down early, we didn’t deviate from the game plan, stuck with them, and took advantage of the opportunities to come out on top,” head coach Scott McGarrh said.

Baseball sought revenge on Friday, and that’s precisely what they got, winning a 7-3 ball game against the Independence Knights and moving their District 10-5A record to 5-3.

“Our pitchers really stepped it up on the mound this time,” head coach Scott McGarrh said. “Even though we got down early, we didn’t deviate from the game plan, stuck with them, and took advantage of the opportunities to come out on top.”

Pitching was the name of the game for the Redhawks, with junior Colby Thorsen pitching for five innings and recording six strikeouts against the Knight

“I was locked in for this game, just made sure I played to the level that I know I’m capable of when I’m on the mound and trusted the boys to carry out the rest,” Thorsen said. “Our team has a lot of potential for this season, we just have to keep executing and playing at a high level.”
